Club Sin is one of the latest additions to what has become a sort of “blow row” on Soi Bongkoch 8 in Pattaya. The place operates on the same gentlemen’s club model as the other five bars in the immediate vicinity. In local terms that means the bar has a locked door with ladies inside who provide oral services and more to a customer base largely made up of guys who spend a lot of time in the area. Like the previously reviewed J Club this place is owned by the Nightwish Group. Starting with a bar on Soi 6 that grew in popularity in large part thanks to a slick internet marketing campaign featuring flattering pictures of attractive women on staff the group has come to own over a dozen bars in the city. All of their bars on Soi 6 seem to be doing quite well. The same cannot be said about the two bars they own on Soi Bongkoch 8 which would explain why they have both been up for sale for nearly a year. Review Club Sin PattayaReview Club Sin Pattaya Like the other nearby bars Club Sin keeps a locked door. The women inside usually watch the closed circuit camera screens so they see when customers approach. Because of that they normally open the door as soon as someone is in front of it. If they are not watching the camera customers have to ring the door bell to gain access. Club Sin is nice and clean inside. Since the place went through a full renovation before being converted into a bar this only makes sense. It does not share the long skinny profile of other nearby bars like Club 4 or 007 however. It is more compact with the bar in the front and a row of more concealed booths at the back. The usual rooms are present upstairs too. There was a time when the bars on Soi Bong Koch 8 were nearly overflowing with women. Most of them were quite attractive too. Things have certainly changed over the years. While there are still some attractive women around the staff numbers have really thinned out. At the same time the presence of twenty-year-olds has become increasingly rare while an abundance of women in their thirties spring up in its place. Some of this may have to due to with a dearth of women. Both J Club and Club Sin have now hiring signs hanging outside in Thai. At the same time the manager of one of the bars in the immediate area told me of difficulties getting women on staff to actually show up for work. While the atmosphere used to seem generally fun on the strip things now look to be really slowing down. Law enforcement might even have something to do with it. I have mentioned a past raid on Club 4 a few times on this site. Other bars in the area are also visited by the boys from time to time including very recently when authorities showed up at 007 to check on things. While J Club mostly has women in their twenties on staff the gals at Club Sin seem to skew a lot older. Some are clearly in their thirties while at least one or two is probably approaching forty years of age or more. On the other hand there seem to be a lot more women at Club Sin most of the time. While J Club might have three women on staff one day Club Sin will have closer to ten. Of course things can change from day to day so while this is true at the time of writing it may not remain so in the future. The usual oral and full services are offered by the women at Club Sin either in the booths at the back in the rooms above. The price are the usual too at 800 Baht ($25 USD) for a blow or 1000 Baht ($32 USD) for the full thing. Of course the house also charges a few hundred Baht for use of the facilities along with whatever drink charges customers incur. Two stars.

Emily Spa is one of the many massage parlors in Ho Chi Minh City that could very easily be lost in the crowd. That’s especially true since the place is tucked away down a corridor that the average person would never venture into. It’s probably for that reason that a team of middle aged Vietnamese ladies sits out in the street near the place trying to recruit foreign customers. Those ladies look like just some of the many Vietnamese people who hang around on sidewalks around the country drinking coffee or tea and having a chat. In fact they are basically touts who are quick to approach any likely looking subject to ask if they want a massage in relatively clear English for the area. Emily Spa on Dong KhoiEmily Spa on Dong Khoi Guys who relent and ask for more information are then asked what kind of massage they want. First they are asked about “everything”. If that doesn’t work they are asked if they want “happy ending massage”. If they agree to either they are quickly whisked down a yellow hallway lined with various types of handbags that are ostensibly on sale. Any customer that follows a tout without negotiating or at least asking for a price in Ho Chi Minh City sets themselves up for being vastly overcharged at the very least. There are stories of worse but generally speaking Ho Chi Minh City is a pretty safe place that is for the most part free of the kind of scams made by ping pong show promoters in Bangkok’s Patpong section. Guys who do negotiate will find that the general asking price for a massage with happy ending is around 1 million Dong ($44 USD). The asking price for the full package is double that or more. Various other options can be offered too depending on any number of circumstances. As with most things in Vietnam prices are negotiable and different customers may pay more or less than what is mentioned here. The touts tend to ask guys who agree to a massage for money up front though they will also accept money after from experienced clients who are firm in their stance and understanding of the way things typically work. After customers agree on payment and the type of session they want they are led by the touts down the aforementioned hallway and up a flight of steps. There sits an entrance to a massage parlor completely with name sign and more details that no one passing on the street would ever see. Customers take off their shoes in front of the shop before entering. Then the touts explain to one of the available staff members what has been agreed upon in Vietnamese. The touts then leave and the customers are led to one of several small cubicles. Those cubicles contain massage tables and not much else. They are surrounded by a combination of long dark curtains and decaying block walls. The handful of women who work at Emily Spa are surprisingly warm and cheerful despite their day to day drudgery. They seem to all be in their mid twenties and mostly working to support families or children. They are not the most beautiful women in the world but they are hardly unattractive either. Unlike some who work similar beats in the touristy districts of the city they do not ask for tips or otherwise go out of their way to milk money from customers. Some even go out of their way to learn and practice English. As is to be expected the actual massages performed at Emily Spa are more or less nonexistent. The special services beyond that are not rushed or mechanical but they could hardly be described as sensual either. Emily Spa is definitely not Minh Minh Tam. Then again, it doesn’t try or purport to be. One star. I don’t report on every bit of news I come across as it would simply be impossible but some things are too notable to ignore. I recently found out that two legendary adult businesses in Bangkok with decades of operation between them are going out of business. Both Annie’s Massage and Club Electric Blue are closing their doors in what seems to be a bad month for long standing sensual shops in the Thai capital. Both places were covered in the early days of this website which shows to some degree the sort of status they had on the scene. Annie’s closure Annie’s is perhaps the oldest soapy massage parlor in Bangkok with around five decades under its belt. Located near Nana Plaza the place became known around the world long before other places in the city were even imagined. Annie's Sopay Massage closedAnnie's Sopay Massage closed Apparently a raise in the rent forced Annie’s out of its long standing location but I can’t actually confirm that. As is often the case, all I have to go by is rumor and innuendo. The word is that the women from Annie’s are heading over to the similar Chrome Bar to work though I would guess that at least some of them won’t make the transition. Club Electric Blue closure Club Electric Blue in Patpong has been open for at least fifteen years. Before that another go go bar operated in the same location going back to a time before some readers of this website were probably even conceived. I don’t know exactly why Club Electric Blue is closing but it may have something to do with the fall in popularity of the area. On the other hand it could just be that the owner thinks it is time to switch things up again as he did back in the early 2000’s. The much newer Club Electric Blue on Soi 15 off of Walking Street in Pattaya will continue to operate as always. I can’t be sure but if I had to guess I would say that it is probably more profitable than the place in Patpong has been over the last few years. Patpong has been in a sort of long slow decline for years even though a recent “rebirth” has brought some new places to the hallowed sois of Patpong 1 and Patpong 2. The old stand by bars like Star of Light and Rose’s for the most part seem to be hanging tough but even they can go the way of the dodo as proven when Mike’s BJ bar shut its doors a few years back. Which bar will be next to go? I don’t know the answer to that. There are lots of new bars opening all the time in Thailand but few of the newer places have developed the kind of reputations that Club Electric Blue and Annie’s did. Maybe none ever will. The most well known parts of Thailand are undoubtedly Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. Chiang Mai is often described as a quiet town but it’s actually a relatively large city with an abundance of adult entertainment and nightlife. Mossa HUE is a modern massage parlor located in the heart of the city. For some reason at least one website posing as an expert guide labels Mossa HUE as being mainly for Thai customers. While the shop is run and mostly staffed by Thais they are more than happy to take on customers from other countries as well. That is evidenced most clearly by the large sign on Ratchuangsaen Road that says “Tourists Welcome” in English. Mossa HUE massage Mossa HUE is just off of Ratchuangsaen which is the road that makes up the southernmost part of the “square” surrounding the moats that define the main historical part of Chiang Mai. It is on a main route and very near a popular night market and some popular shops and restaurants which means that countless people pass by every day. The front of Mossa HUE is marked with a large clear sign. There are usually a lot of shoes outside too. Customers take off their shoes before entering the lobby. There they find a desk staffed by an attractive Thai woman who manages the place. She prefers to speak in Thai but she does speak English too. Yun Ah Mossa Hue Massage Chiang MaiYun Ah Mossa Hue Massage Chiang Mai The manager has a menu of prices that very according to the length of session and the class of service provider selected. There are too many options and types of women to mention let alone remember but generally speaking a hour long appointment with a woman at Mossa HUE costs around 1800 Baht ($54 USD). The shop constantly runs promotions on its Facebook and Line accounts offering discounts but customers must mention them if they want to take advantage of the lower prices. After customers are given the rundown on the prices and the way things work they are taken to a small side room where the available women lineup. The women then file in and the manager gives the name and class of each. Customers then make a selection and pay their fee. Then they join their selected service provider in one of the rooms on premises. Staff, services and summary There are a lot of women on staff at Mossa HUE but they work different schedules. Many of them maintain other jobs or study and use Mossa HUE as a place to pick up extra money though some do work full time. As pictures published by the Mossa HUE management indicate there are a lot of university students working at the shop. That bodes well for the customers since Chiang Mai and especially its universities are considered to be home to some of the most beautiful women in Thailand. The women who work at Mossa HUE mainly hail from northern Thailand. Most are locals but there are also others on staff including some Burmese gals. All of the women are in the early twenties. All are also fit and generally attractive. Few if any have had babies or have large guts. Few speak much English either. The rooms are Mossa HUE are sterile looking but clean. They have white walls and sturdy beds lined up across from mirrored walls. At the end of each room there are shower cubicles that are surprisingly spotless. The standard service at Mossa HUE entails a mediocre nude body rub followed by hand or mouth release. As mentioned many of the women on the staff are amateurs and part times so they are not always skilled in the art of happy endings but they all try hard to leave their customers satisfied. The women are not scam artists or clock watchers. The shop would probably deny the existence of any other services if pressed but some of the women do in fact offer full service in the rooms at times. For that they usually ask for an additional 1000 to 1500 Baht ($30-45 USD). If customers accept the offer and pay for the premium the service providers disappear to fetch rubbers then return for the main event. Generally speaking everyone at Mossa HUE is kind and cordial. The shop is well maintained and clean. The women who staff the place are very good looking and vibrant. For all of these reasons it is a bit strange that Mossa HUE isn’t mentioned by more foreigners in Chiang Mai. Three-and-a-half stars. The Covid-19 crisis has shut down much of the world for a significant period of time. As far back as March 2020 I was reporting on the toll the virus outbreak was having on sex workers. That impact was only amplified as entire countries went into lockdown. Germany has long had one of the most open commercial sex industries in the world. Private bordellos like Agentur Liberty in Berlin operate alongside large FKK sex saunas such as the famous Oase in Frankfurt, renown red light districts like Reeperbahn in Hamburg, and countless independent escorts to make up a very vibrant scene. Sex workers in Germany can collect state pensions like other “mainstream” workers who pay into the system too. But when Covid-19 came along it knocked a lot of ladies out of business. Brothels in Germany were closed along with bars and restaurants. Income for sex workers dried up. Yet many cannot access emergency funds for business people due to their professions or positions. That is not to mention the women from various parts of Europe who rented rooms in the places they plied their trade. Especially hard hit have been those who were unable to get back to their home countries before travel restrictions were enacted. They are basically stuck in Germany with no way to make money. Could Covid-19 lead to a prostitution ban? There is no question that the Covid-19 crisis has had a major effect on sex workers in Germany. But rather than craft a response to this current crisis some are taking the opportunity to call for a permanent end of prostitution in Germany. These people say that the current crisis has made clear that sex workers “have no existence”. It is claimed that “they have no apartment, no health insurance, and are being controlled by pimps. A re-opening of prostitution venues doesn’t help these women. Rather an apprenticeship or work in a profession that helps them to establish their existence”. We can only wonder what these voices think about reports that some sex workers have turned to street walking or asking for work at farms. Presumably the women who have turned to walking the streets still do not exist in their view. But those who have begged to pick strawberries for low wages have asserted their existence like Descartes proclaiming “je pense, donc je suis!” in his Discourse on the Method. middle ages prostitution in germanymiddle ages prostitution in germany Recently there have been increasing calls from certain people in the halls of power to adopt the so-called Nordic Model in Germany. Of course this Nordic Model is also known as “neo-abolitionism” and “the sex buyer act” for good reason. Under the Nordic Model the purchase of sex services is outlawed while selling remains technically decriminalized. Customers are arrested and labeled as “Johns” while providers are supposed to be provided with counseling, housing and alternative skills training. That way they can do “respectable work” like picking produce for a pittance. This is all reportedly widely in German media and has already echoed across several outlets including Deutsche Welle (DW), Der Spiegel and the Deutsches Ärzteblatt. It has become something of a hot button issue in just a short period of time. Since there is such a big and broad sex industry in Germany that only makes sense. Will sex work stay legal in Germany? There are always those who call for vices like prostitution to be driven out from every society. Sometimes they are headed. Other times they are humored. In Germany they are now growing in scope and scale. But that doesn’t mean that the country will suddenly turn everything upside down and ban the exchange of money for sex overnight. It is possible that Germany could go the Nordic route. After all the EU parliament adopted a resolution in favor of the Nordic Model several years ago. And Germany itself enacted a law regulating sex work and requiring things like the use of condoms when prostitutes perform oral sex not long after. It may not be all that likely however. Only a handful of countries actually follow the Nordic Model to any real degree. Even in those countries sex work continues. The Iceland Monitor reports that prostitution is on the rise in Iceland. The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police actually called the expansion of prostitution explosive. Then there are the relatively high numbers of Nordic clients who visit the legal brothels of countries including https://tumblrmilf.com/blog Germany. That’s on top of the fact that the new German condom law is routinely flouted. And milf chat the reality that prostitution is absolutely thriving in several countries where sex work is illegal. The Nordic Model is opposed by groups like Amnesty International, UNAIDS, and UN Women. These organizations have all taken the sensible position that prostitution should simply be decriminalized. But even those who oppose prostitution have not been able to stop it in any real way. As has been the case throughout history the commercial sex industry proves to be resilient and impossible to simply legislate out of existence. It’s called “the world’s oldest profession” for a reason. |
